Hi there! I am excited to chat today on Smart Kitchens: The Convenience of Connected Living in Your Kitchen. There are so many incredible new features with kitchen appliances that are a game-changer in the kitchen! Want to learn more?
Question: Has this ever happened to you?
You spend two days packing the family up for a road trip.
You get up early the day of the trip to pack the car.
You pack the snacks.
You pack the kids in their seats.
You take off about 30 mins later than planned and feel so relieved.
You are FINALLY ON THE ROAD when this thought creeps into your mind:
“Did I leave something on?”
You turn the car around.
It’s happened to us all. How about this though – you log on to your app, check the oven, check the burners. All clear.
Peace.of.Mind. Without turning the car around.
Welcome to the new smart technology kitchen.
So about a month ago on a kitchen designing expedition to the beautiful new Howard’s Appliances Flagship in Marina Pacifica Center in Long Beach, I was introduced to the kitchen of tomorrow, happening today.
Controlling your kitchen remotely with an app is an absolute game-changer! The Monogram Appliances SmartHQ app allows you to control and check in on your appliances, but also check their diagnostics (appliance health). It’s truly amazing how these things can make life streamlined for a busy family.
It’s easy to initially be a little skeptical of smart appliances. Are these just extra bells and whistles you don’t really need? The Howard’s product specialists were incredibly helpful by showing us how to use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to set up hands-free instructions. Alexa can help you boss your appliances around with commands like “Turn off the oven”, which makes life easier for sure.
I thought of the not-so-confident cooks in my life, and how much they would love the 175 pre-programmed recipes. You simply search directly on your oven’s knob for the exact type of food you are cooking, and the amount. Depending on the type of food, there are further options. The oven then knows how to cook it for you. 2lbs of Filet Mignon, medium… start cooking. Immediate confidence booster.
A few more ways the Monogram smart kitchen is making life easier – and safer – for my clients:
> Your absent-minded teen leaves the fridge door open. All. Day. Long.
> You are stuck in traffic but need to preheat your oven to get a lasagna in ASAP for a dinner party.
Turn on the oven, no problem!
> You come home from a week in Hawaii to a wet floor because your dishwasher sprang a leak. A week ago.
You know about the leak right away, not a week later.
> You are making a round of margaritas for the football game but there’s no ice when you reach into the freezer.
You can check remotely for ice levels.
And so much more…
Welcome to the kitchen of the future, I think you’re going to like it! Hope you enjoyed learning on the Smart Kitchen: Connected Kitchen. You can learn more about selecting kitchen appliances here. Stay tuned for next month’s blog post on our kitchen series!
